The Ghost of Henry Flagler

The Ghost of Henry Flagler

Flagler College Opened in 1888 as the luxurious Hotel Ponce de Leon, this landmark holds a chilling legend. During Henry Flagler's funeral in 1913, the massive wooden doors reportedly slammed shut on a perfectly still day. Some even believe an image of his spirit remains trapped in the floor tiles.

Hidden Streets & the Legend of the Yellow Roses

Hidden Streets & the Legend of the Yellow Roses

Casa Horruytiner At historic Casa Horruytiner, Brigitta Gomez reportedly encountered two ghostly women in her garden and offered them yellow roses. Her husband dismissed the encounter, until a mysterious bouquet appeared on their doorstep the following morning.

Taverns, Tragedy & Lost Souls

Taverns, Tragedy & Lost Souls

Old Fay's House & the Casablanca Inn Local legend says Miss Fay died after falling down the deteriorating staircase of her home, and neighbors soon reported an angry elderly woman's face in the windows. During Prohibition, a widowed innkeeper at the Casablanca Inn used a rooftop lantern to signal rumrunners. Some believe her ghost still walks the rooftop, waiting for ships that will never return.

The Ghost of Elizabeth

The Ghost of Elizabeth

City Gates & Castillo de San Marcos The walk ends near the City Gates, in sight of the Castillo de San Marcos. Legend says Elizabeth, a 12-year-old girl who died during the yellow fever epidemic of 1821, still wanders the gates in her nightgown, greeting visitors just as she once did alongside her father.
